Christian Mediation is a faith-based approach to resolving disputes by utilizing biblical principles, prayer, discernment, and creative problem solving. As Christians we are called to love one another and to make every effort to settle a dispute out of court whenever possible (1 Corinthians 6:1).
Conflict Dispute Resolution
The Christian Mediation process embodies this effort by providing a non-adversarial process to openly communicate issues and assist in structuring an equitable settlement in a private and confidential manner.
As a Christian Mediator, Sandra Dopf works in collaboration with the divorcing couple to reach an agreement they will view as fair. She does this by encouraging the mediating parties to articulate their needs, their feelings, and beliefs about fairness. Sandra does not offer you legal advice, only creative options and possible solutions as she brings new perspectives to the proceeding through knowledge and Christian discernment.
Summary of Mediation
Once the two of you have worked through all the parts of your separation Sandra composes a “Summary of Mediation” for you. This document is sent to your respective attorneys or a mutually agreed upon attorney for review and drafting of the final legal documents.
Every day, more and more people are realizing the benefits of Christian Mediation. It saves time, money and the continual destruction of the relationship. It gives parties greater control over the outcome of their dispute and provides an effective setting for resolving difficult issues. It allows couples to address all issues relevant to the divorce: division of assets and debts, support issues and parenting issues. In working toward a mutually acceptable resolution of each issue, each person feels their needs and concerns are addressed and feels supported by the process.
Taking the High Road
Divorce is painful and complicated, but Christian Mediation enables couples to take the high road. This is a vital first step in moving forward in your divorce life in the best possible shape, beyond anger and hurt, and toward forgiveness, acceptance of responsibility and new beginnings.
